The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Cornings businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.
:Provide day:to:day oversight and support to both operations teams, projects, and product service line with respect to all tools characterized in the Corning core tools stack.
:Maintain, track, and communicate changes pertaining to Core tools solutions roadmaps.
:Interact with internal customers and partners to ensure successful delivery of service. Includes: monthly patching; software delivery; and timed program software delivery.
:Govern or act as a gate keeper for the quality of the Corning Core Tools systems
:Serve as the technical lead on projects by participating as project resource representing Core Services and Tools area of responsibility and technical expertise.
:Interact with customer to gather and define requirements from both a business and systems per3spective by interpreting business needs and translating them to technical requirements and specifications to meet customer needs.
:Maintain enterprise Symantec Management Platform infrastructure. This includes, but is not limited to the following:
:Application software packaging and delivery using Symantec Management Platform version 8.1.
:Understanding and experience with client/server scripting technologies including, but not limited to: VBScript; Windows Batch; and Microsoft Powershell.
:Work with Corning Vulnerability Assessment Team to troubleshoot client patching incidents and assist in driving client workstation compliance.
:Provide timely project support in the creation, quality assurance, testing, and delivery of distinct software packages per customer specifications.
:Estimate time and materials costs plus all other elements of Project Initiation process for IT or business projects.
:Assist operations and SDA's with troubleshooting more complex applications, infrastructure problems or other IT problem that may have a significant impact on the business.
:Lead efforts with other operational teams to identify improvement opportunities and systematically drive down recurring defects and deliver superior services to Corning customers.
:Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
:Certifications desired, including but not limited to: MCTS, MCSE, MCSA, MCP, A+.
:Minimum 5 years' experience in client systems management or similar role.
:Understanding and/or experience with the following products is desired:
:Hands on enterprise class experience with Altiris SMP (Symantec Management Platform) suite. Version 7.6 and/or 8.1.
:Symantec EndPoint Protection Client and Server architecture (AV)
:Application Whitelisting using Bit9 or equivalent. Includes understanding of whitliesting rules, managing exceptions, etc.
:Systems Monitoring applications: HP OMI Suite; HP SIM and/or NetIQ App Manager, and Cisco Prime
:RDBMS such as Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server
:Ability to work and manage assigned tasks and projects independently.
:Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must.
