An ideal candidate will have the passion and motivation to lead a team of Business Insurance employees to meet our service and quality goals. The candidate will also possess a high sense of responsibility for the growth and development of employees as outlined through the performance management guidelines established within Traveler-s Company. In addition, the candidate must be able to collaborate frequently with his/her peer group within the Elmira site, as well as with company sites across the country, to develop and implement consistent process improvements. This position will report directly into the Operations Director.PRIMARY DUTIES:Manage team resources to achieve compliance and performance standardsincluding productivity and quality results; provide management informationas necessary; and utilize available resources in a cost effective manner.Manage workload, workflow, compliance and resources to maximize efficiency.This position is accountable for all aspects of employee performancemanagement including performance improvement and compensation planning.Consistent coaching of employees toward performance and developmentobjectives is required.Foster a culture of excellence, achieving established performance goalswhile maintaining positive team morale and frequent performance recognition.Act in a collaborative capacity with peers and project groups to implementchanges in strategy, workflow or technologies. Manage the effectiveimplementation of new technologies and the utilization of existing systems.Collaborate with underwriting to identify authority issues and businessrules to implement from an operations perspective in order to maximizeworkflow efficiency.Participate in local and countrywide project groups to support and implement evolving technologiesand workflows that may include offshore engagements.Effectively support and communicate underwriting initiatives throughauthorities and business rules as they apply to the team. Monitorperformance for consistent adherence to authorities and business rules.WORKING CONDITIONS:Office environmentAPPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCE:Four year college degree requiredManagement experience preferredInsurance industry experience a plus.LEADERSHIP SKILLS:Demonstrated ability to form and maintain relationships which enhanceunderstanding and mutual respect.
